TOEFL
The minimum TOEFL score required is 79 for the internet-based test, with a minimum writing score of 20. The minimum TOEFL score for the paper-based exam is 550, with a minimum writing score of 58.
IELTS
The minimum IELTS score required is an overall score of a 6.5, with a minimum writing score of 6.5. The testing agency should mail the official results directly to the University of Houston.
GRE
The University of Houston Graduate School is pleased to offer a GRE/GMAT Waiver program for UH main campus undergraduate students. To qualify, students must have graduated from the University of Houston main campus within the three years preceding the term for which they are applying. Students must also meet the minimum undergraduate GPA listed below for the degree program to which they are applying.This program only waives the submission of GRE or GMAT scores from the application process and does not guarantee admission to any degree program. Students should be aware of application deadlines for each degree program. This program is part of a pilot program and may be discontinued in future terms.

Statement of Purpose (SOP). Include your name on the form and indicate your interest of a research field.
GPA
For domestic applicants, your Overall GPA and Chemistry GPA should both be at least 3.0 out of 4.0 (B average).
CV
Resume. List the most current institution even if you are not receiving a degree.
Fee
The application is freefor domestic students. The application fee is $75 for international students.
RL
Three letters of recommendation. An email notification from our Graduate School will be sent directly to your recommenders. Please clearly indicate their email addresses during the online application process. You need to waive or decline to waive the confidentiality statement at the bottom of the application.
Transcript
Send official transcripts/degree certificates to the UH Graduate School. See university requirements. Official individual mark sheets in certain countries, transcripts, and degree certificates must be sent directly to the Graduate School.
