GRE
All applicants are required to take the general portion of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) administered by ETS. The GRE must be taken at least a month prior to the application deadline and the score cannot be more than 5 years old. GRE scores are considered in the context of the applicant's whole record, but a strong applicant will normally have a total minimum score on the GRE verbal and quantitative section of 302 (preferably a minimum of 151 on the Verbal and minimum of 151 on the quantitative section).

All applicants must pay the required application fees (Domestic Applicants: $40; International Applicants: $40, plus, an additional $75) before their application is considered complete and ready for review.

Consideration of an application can be made with unofficial transcripts, however, once admitted, the prospective student must provide an official transcript in order to be given the ability to enroll.International Students must send original or certified transcripts of previous education both in the original language and the English translation to the UH Graduate School.
