<p>STEM專(zhuān)業(yè)的畢業(yè)生可以申請(qǐng)額外24個(gè)月的opt延期，也就是說(shuō)他們將擁有總共36個(gè)月的opt時(shí)間用來(lái)找工作并申請(qǐng)h1b工作簽證。</p>

<p>萊斯大學(xué)統(tǒng)計(jì)碩士Professional Master's in Statistics (MStat)隸屬于工程學(xué)院下的統(tǒng)計(jì)系， 時(shí)長(zhǎng)1年半。</p><p>
課程設(shè)置： 5門(mén)必修課，選修課主要分6個(gè)options（MBA joint那個(gè)忽略）。學(xué)生可以根據(jù)自己的興趣和職業(yè)規(guī)劃進(jìn)行選擇。這個(gè)specialization 就是可以修更多理論導(dǎo)向的課程（register for classes of a more theoretical nature）
其他track 還有：Applied Statistics for Industry（應(yīng)用統(tǒng)計(jì)），F(xiàn)inancial Statistics and the Statistics of Risk金融統(tǒng)計(jì)與風(fēng)險(xiǎn)統(tǒng)計(jì)，Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics, and Biostatistics生物統(tǒng)計(jì)，Statistical Computing and Data Mining統(tǒng)計(jì)計(jì)算和數(shù)據(jù)挖掘, Environmental Statistics環(huán)境統(tǒng)計(jì)。</p><p>
就業(yè)方面：項(xiàng)目名就是professional，培養(yǎng)目標(biāo)也是professional statisticians career preparation ,整體是就業(yè)導(dǎo)向的。但在項(xiàng)目下設(shè)的不同的course options里有一個(gè)preparation for PhD studies in statistics，mathematical economics and finance 的選擇，所以也是讀博友好的。</p><p>
錄取方面：錄取有先修課要求，但可以在rice 的summer 修。</p>
